Dr. Francis Kizito Yaw Amevenku

CSIR-Water Research Institute

Dr. Francis Kizito Yaw Amevenku is a Senior Research Scientist, and Head of the Fishery and Aquaculture Division of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research Water Research Institute (CSIR-WRI).

He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Natural Resource Management at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana in 1989; Certificate in Integrated Fish Farming from the Asian Pacific Regional Training Centre for Integrated Fish Farming in 1992; Master’s degree in Agricultural Economics in 1999 from the University of Ghana; and a PhD in Agricultural Economics and Policy also from the University of Ghana in 2016. 

 

 

 

He has experience in Fish stock Monitoring, Environmental Impact Assessment, Integrated Fish Farm Management and Project Analysis. He was a part-time lecturer in Fishery and Aquaculture Economics at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (2000 – 2005) and a part-time lecturer at the Master’s level in Environmental Economics (2004 to date) at the University of Ghana and also at the CSIR College of Technology (2017 to date).

He has supervised many post-graduate students at both Masters and PhD levels at these Universities. He has published 10 peer-reviewed articles in international journals including the Global Journal of Researches Incorporated; Journal of Cogent Economics and Finance; Journal of Development in Practice;and Journal of Agribusiness in Developing and Emerging Economies.
