Profile

Frederick Yaw Logah is a Senior Research Scientist (Hydrologist/Climate) at the Water Research Institute of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research in Ghana. He holds a Master of Science Degree in Water Resources Engineering (2008) from the Faculty of Bioscience Engineering of the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agricultural Engineering (2003) from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana. His research experience covers areas such as modelling the impact of climate change on water resources, hydrology and integrated water resources management. He has coordinated various consultancy services to governmental and non-governmental agencies, companies, communities and private individuals in the areas of water resources management, catchment hydrology, rainwater harvesting technology, remote sensing application to GIS, irrigation and drainage, water supply technology and rural water supply. He is also responsible for the supervision of Technical Staff, field surveys and data collection, analysis and reporting of research findings. Frederick has over 30 publications to his credit in peer reviewed journals, conference proceeding, book chapters, technical and consultancy publications. He is currently pursuing his PhD degree in Water Resources Engineering and Management at the Civil Engineering Department of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, in Kumasi, Ghana.

  1. Disaster risk reduction practice and capacity building support to ECOWAS, funded by the World Bank for the period 2018-2019.
  2. Multi-scale Flood Monitoring and Assessment Services for West Africa (MiFMASS), funded by AUC/EU for the period 2017-2020.
  3. Flood mitigation in the White Volta Basin, funded by the Government of Ghana for the period March – July, 2019.
